The COVID-19 outbreak has affected almost every part of our lives, including dentistry. While dentists like Nashoba Valley Dental are now open and accepting patients, there are a number of precautions that need to be taken to ensure that you stay safe during your appointment.
So in this blog, we’ll discuss a few of the steps that Dr. Annese and the team at Nashoba Valley Dental have taken to ensure the safety and security of every patient who steps through our door. Read on and learn more now.
We will be screening patients for COVID-19 symptoms and possible exposure when confirming appointments, using a CDC-recommended questionnaire that asks about recent travel and health symptoms you may have experienced. We will screen you again upon arriving at your appointment to ensure nothing has changed.
In addition, we are taking the temperature of every patient with a touchless infrared thermometer. If your reading is higher than 100.4° F, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for a later date.
Our waiting room is currently closed to all patients. We are offering curbside check-in as an alternative. Just call or text our team to let us know you’re here, and we’ll check you in from the comfort of your own car.
Once it’s time for your appointment, you’ll go directly back to the operatory where you’ll receive treatment, and when you are finished, you will leave out of our side door to minimize cross-traffic in our office.
All patients will be asked to sanitize their hands upon entering their office, and are required to wear a face mask or other covering to receive treatment. If you do not have a face covering, one will be provided to you before your appointment.
Our team members are wearing face shields, masks, gloves, gowns, and even caps and shoe coverings when recommended. We may look a bit different, but you will still get the same excellent, personalized care from Dr. Annese and the dental team at Nashoba Valley Dental.
At our office, we have always followed OSHA, ADA, and CDC recommendations to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, such as thoroughly sanitizing operatories between each patient and properly sterilizing all reusable equipment.
We are even taking additional steps, such as frequently wiping down commonly-touched surfaces like countertops, tables, bathrooms, and other surfaces that could transmit COVID-19 or other infectious diseases.
We’re doing everything we can to adjust to the “new normal,” and keep our patients safe during this difficult time. So if you need dental care in Shirley or the surrounding areas, don’t wait. Get the help you need from Dr. Matthew Annese. You can schedule an appointment by giving us a call at (978) 425-9088 or contacting us online.
