About Nashoba Valley Dental
A Full-Service, Progressive Dental Practice
Nashoba Valley Dental was founded on the idea that everyone should have a smile they love. Our services include anything from patching a tooth to a complete smile makeover – and everything in between. In taking over this dental practice that has served as a staple in the community for years, Dr. Matthew Annese stayed in line with the previous practice owner’s philosophy of patient education and involvement. Add that to a vast selection of services and use of the latest innovations in dental technology, and we help patients get the smile they always wanted in the way that works best for them.
Our dental professionals are driven by a commitment to deliver the highest-quality dental work in a setting that is familiar and relaxed. We never push patients to get treatment they aren’t comfortable with, and if the ideal solution doesn’t work with their budget, we find an alternative that produces results that are just as desirable. Dr. Annese and our staff have created a culture that is energetic, yet laid back, and proactive, yet resourceful. We want everyone coming into our office to feel at ease, which is why, on top of exceptional dental care, we offer comforts such as TV’s for entertainment and a coffee station for our patients to enjoy while waiting they wait. Your peace of mind is our priority.

About Dr. Annese
Dr. Annese grew up in nearby Billerica, Massachusetts. Having spent his summers working construction, he was able to dedicate numerous hours to the rebuilding effort of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. These experiences made him realize that he truly enjoyed helping those in need. When exploring professions, he searched for a field where he could have a direct impact on people. Dentistry called to him as he realized how much a confident smile could change someone’s life.
Since graduating from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Annese retains faculty status at Boston University and Tufts School of Dental Medicine. Every year he surpasses the required education hours to ensure he stays abreast of the latest technologies and techniques. He also prefers to work closely with patients when evaluating their needs, always giving them a voice in their treatment plan and aiming to deliver services as quickly and comfortably as possible.
Outside of the office, Dr. Annese enjoys spending time with his wife, Allison, and family. He especially enjoys watching his little guy, Bennett, grow up way too fast. He stays active with hockey, exercise, water sports, and skiing – but also enjoys putting calories back on with new restaurants, wine and craft beer.

Jackie joined the practice in 2015. She grew up in rural northeastern Vermont and graduated from the University of Vermont with a Dental Hygiene Degree in 2004. During school, Jackie was elected president of UVM’s Student American Dental Hygiene Association and was inducted into the Sigma Phi Alpha dental hygiene honor society. She was also a member of UVM and Vermont Technical College’s advisory committees for several years.
Jackie’s interest in dentistry began at a young age when she would go to work with her mother as a “helper”. She later went on to work as a dental office manager for eight years until she was able to pursue her dream of becoming a dental hygienist. She’s driven to help patients achieve and maintain their oral health in a compassionate and comfortable environment. When she’s not working, Jackie’s most cherished time is spent with her family. She also enjoys baking and spending long days at the beach!
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kayla has always been interested in dentistry and oral health. Her first job while in high school was at a dental office, where she realized that a career in dental hygiene would be perfect for her. Kayla graduated Middlesex Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene and has been working with Dr. Annese since 2014.
There are numerous things about being a dental hygienist that make Kayla’s job rewarding. She loves meeting new people from various backgrounds and forming relationships with them while catching up (and celebrating their progress) every six months at their visits. She also enjoys the educational aspect of her profession – helping patients understand how oral health is related to their overall well-being and motivating them to improve their oral hygiene. Her advocacy even brought her to Peru in 2013, where she educated remote villages correct dental practices and the importance of maintaining good oral health.
Being compassionate, understanding, and helpful with her patients is important to Kayla.. She lives these traits outside of work as well, where she is passionate about the environment and a dedicated animal rescuer. She even has two rescue cats, Milly and Milo.
